I've tried and tried, and I cannot remember how to request an affiliation... so here I am requesting and affiliation with your group and my group. 
actually it looks like you need to go into your admin area, then to manage members, and change your affiliate settings, i think yours is set to do not allow, maybe thats why its hard to figure it out. because i tried and it says i do not have access to affiliate with your group. once you change your settings you should be fine
theres a button on the top bar that says affiliate with the little 
icon next to it, but yeah dont worry ill do the affiliatin' for you!
